During my recent trip to Paris, I couldn’t help but have a little hunt for what has been dubbed as France’s favourite sweet, the infamous “les Coucougnettes du Vert Galant”.
I first heard about these when Dita Von Teese tweeted about them (have I mentioned how much a adore her?!).
Translated to mean “Henry IV’s testicles”, they are a tribute to the king who had 57 mistresses and 24 children…

Thankfully these little sweeties aren’t sweaty & hairy, but really rather delicious, a toasted almond covered in dark chocolate and raspberry, ginger and armagnac marzipan.

If you want to try them yourself you can find them at the Galeries Lafayette, Paris.
