VINTAGE LOVE: 1940s SWEETHEART BRACELET

I have been searching for a vintage sweetheart bracelet for a while now. Originally given as tokens of love between soldiers and their loved ones, there are so many of these expandable bracelets about, but not many that are without the personalised engraving.

Having scoured the internet for one that fit this criteria, along with another which was a sterling base, I finally FINALLY managed to find one that I can cherish for many years to come.

This bracelet is an American Queen Pitman & Keeler, gold wrap over sterling base and it is TINY. I thought I had a tiny wrist but this bracelet is insanely small although meant for an adult supposedly. Pretty much all the sweetheart bracelets from this era are of a super small size unfortunately!

As you can see the bracelet expands to fit any sized wrist but it loses its neatness if its expanded too much (if you get what I mean?!).

On my wrist. I LOVE it although I can’t help but wonder if it’s capable of stopping blood flow to my hand…ho hum!
