DITA VON TEESE DEBUT FRAGRANCE!

I’m not one who buys into celebrity fragrances, in fact I don’t own a single one.
However, that is all about to change with the launch of burlesque queen & style icon, heck MY icon (!)…Dita Von Teese’s debut fragrance. If you read Hellcandy regularly you will know how much I admire her

Dita decided to venture into the world of fragrance after discovering that she shared her signature perfume with hey boyfriend’s mother! Having worn Houbigant Quelques Fleurs for the last 20 years, and not quite finding a suitable fragrance to replace it with, Dita set about creating her own.

The self titled perfume opens with a head note composed of fresh peonies, bergamot, and slightly spicy Bourbon pepper. The heart of the perfume is a combination of Bulgarian rose, Tahitian Tiaré petals, and fresh jasmine. And in the base note, the mystical and warm scents of patchouli, musk, and smoky Gaiac wood and sandalwood.

Describing the perfume making process Dita says she was “very excited about the process of creating a perfume and I enjoyed it a lot. The noses I worked with in Paris probably weren’texpecting me to come bounding through the door at every meeting and wanting to get involved.
But it was great to be able to do this, however, also a bit frustrating for me to try to voice and express what I am looking for and the feelings Iwant to convey with the perfume. Further, it’s not always easy to bring together things that are super-sophisticated and things that are super dark and moody and sexual at the same time, it’s really tricky. In the end, I wanted something that is really typical me and in tune with who I am”.

Am particularly fond of the purse spray…so elegant.
