SNOODS…everywhere you look there they are.
Despite the silly name (scarf + hood = Snood…get it?), I’ve come to the conclusion this winter that they really are more than just a vain accessory *nods*
So without further delay, here are my five reasons why:
1) They don’t get caught in things
I made the somewhat foolish mistake of peddling around London on a Boris bike last weekend. All the while whilst wearing a long knit scarf. It got caught in the handle bars…it was not good! Snoods don’t do this.
2) Easy to plonked on
None of that faffing around, deciding how you should wear your scarf. The questions of how many times one should wrap scarf around neck or create loop then shove rest of scarf through said loop are banished. With snoods you just pop them over your head et voila!
3) They don’t drag on the floor or ground
Every scarf, regardless of length, will on one or several occasions be subjected to the filth of floors and the dirt of the ground. Whether it’s one of those super duper long scarves that are meant to be wound round your neck several times, or it’s been tied to your bag cause it’s suddenly got too warm, it’s inevitable that a scarf will kiss some muck at some point! With snoods you don’t have to worry.
4) They stay in place
Scarves…no matter how many times you wind it round your neck, they always need adjusting. A bit of a flick over the shoulder so to speak. Snoods stay in place!
5) They look tidy
Ok so whilst some snoods can make the wearer look like they are wearing a neck brace (I have a primark one that does this), the are quite neat little accessories to behold. A knitted ring of warmth that fits snug around your neck without any flappy bits. Yep snoods are tidy things.
My go to snood is a basic black one from H&M. It goes with everything but is quite an essential wardrobe accessory. See! *points below*
So hands up…who’s got a snood?
