THE BLONDE OMBRE!

The words “DIY Ombre Hair” are the most popular search terms for my site at the moment!
This time last year there was hardly an ombre head in sight and now I see them almost daily here in London. With hair salons offering their own “dip dyed” versions for silly prices, the DIY option is always an attractive one, but I’ve seen some pretty disastrous botch jobs about.

That being said…my friend Charlie is a fantastic whizz with the bleach so I thought I’d share with you her newest version of the ombre!

TA DAAA:

The crucial success of an ombre is a decent and smooth fade. It’s not easy to achieve (believe me I have tried and it was frikking HARD!) and I know Charlie struggled a bit to get this ombre looking as good as it does. A few washes with John Freida’s purple shampoo did a fantastic job at removing the brassy tones in her hair.

That being said I do know it took her an additional six dyes to get it to this state so unless your hair is super resilient like hers I’d be careful with the bleach!

Think it makes a fab change to the brown ombres that seem to be saturating the bloggersphere at the mo…

For reference this is what Charlie’s hair looked like before:

Outfit details to follow later this week!

Thanks to Charlie for letting me post more pics of her :P
