Last weekend I visited my parents & pretty much the first thing my dad said to me upon entering the house was to check out his ipad. He had been researching vintage perfume bottles & one of them was a rare Guerlain Champs Elysees perfume.
Originally released in 1904 to celebrate the opening of the Guerlain store on the Champs Elysees, the fragrance was again released in 1995 where only 1300 bottles were made.
The 1995 edition was housed in an elaborate red leather & wood box designed by Hermes, with the bottle an exact copy of the original Baccarat crystal perfume bottle which itself is exquisite & incredibly rare.
What is even more incredible is the fact that my dad owns one & very kindly let me photograph it for my blog!
The beautiful Hermes designed leather & wood presentation box:
The perfume is in excellent condition, still sealed & never been open. The amazing thing is that my dad bought it about 6 years ago from a car boot sale together with a bottle of Chanel No5 for £10 *jawdrop*
The current value price of this is way over £1000 such is it’s rarity. As tempting as it is to sniff this fragrance I think it’s safe to say we won’t be opening it any time soon!
Will be popping up another post on the rest of my parents vintage fragrance collection very soon but thought this one deserved it’s very own post.
Thanks dad for letting me photograph it! x
