Chanel Vitalumiere. It’s one of those beauty products you constantly hear rave reviews about. It gives glowing skin, natural finish, perfect coverage. Vitalumiere was a product I was itching to get my hands on. I bought into all the positive reviews & the promises of flawless skin & the HG status.
Unfortunately this isn’t going to be one of those reviews because Vitalumiere gave me spots…& plenty of them.
I should have known something was wrong when I first applied this product. For starters the scent of this foundation is overwhelmingly strong & it’s an artificial fragrance that I really don’t like. I don’t really understand the need to scent a foundation so that it smells like a perfume *shakes head*
That being said, the cover was great, it blended very well & did give my skin a dewy finish which I liked a lot.
But then the spots started. Am not talking little pimples. These were big horrible under-the-skin hard spots & I was sporting on average five of these every day. My skin had never been so bad!
You may have noticed that my beauty posts have been on the decline of late & this I will admit has been down to the terrible condition of my skin. It really was quite horrible & maybe it’s harsh to blame it solely on one product but it has been the one product I have cut out of my beauty regime & since then my skin has improved immensely. I am also using some new skincare products which I hope have accounted towards my clearer complexion (more about these soon!).
Now I know there are many people who love this product, one of my friends at work in particular has amazing skin & swears by this Chanel foundation so I don’t want to put all of you off this particular product. It’s just in this case it didn’t work out for me.
If you’re thinking of buying this product & have sensitive skin I would definitely think twice before handing over the £34 for this product. I bought mine in duty free for something like £28 & remember how excited I was to try it out & it’s super disappointing that it’s been such a bad foundation for me. This may end up being your HG foundation but you may also end up with lots of blemishes like me. If possible ask for a sample to try first!
