Outfit of the Day: the Horrockses boot sale dress!

Remember a few months back when a Horrockses dress found me at a boot sale? Well it took me a while to get round to actually wearing it! Mostly because it is such a precious dress to me that I felt like it needed a whole assemble to go with it!

If you’re not familiar with the Horrockses label, it was a hugely successful & well respected British fashion label that was popular in the 1940s – 1950s. Known for their ready to wear dresses, the prints were iconic & today the dresses are highly sought after by vintage lovers with dresses on ebay demanding a price tag of £200+. Back in the day the dresses were considered expensive where often women would save a week’s wages just to buy one!

Mine cost me £23.50 at a boot sale. Expensive for a boot sale find but AMAZING in terms of a vintage bargain!

Dress: Horrockses
Shoes: Zara (past season although Office had something similar this year)
Bag & belt: Mum’s hand me down
Cardigan: topshop (boot sale purchase for £1)

Should have taken a shot without the cardigan so you can see the cut properly but we took these in a bit of a rush one evening when it was a bit nippy!
