Glamping part 2: The Shepherd’s Return!

Hello & welcome to the Shepherd’s Return!

Earlier in the month the bf & I drove out to the countryside for a long glamping weekend away to celebrate his birthday. I booked us into a little shepherd’s hut in West Sussex; deep in the English Countryside with beautiful rolling hills & plenty of fresh clean air.

Check out our little home for the weekend. Absolute bliss!

Unfortunately I didn’t actually get a good shot of the inside of the hut but the decor includes all the creature comforts you could ask for with double bed, wool duvet for warmth & a wood burning stove to keep you snug as a bug!

The Shepherd’s hut is ran by the lovely Lizzie who is an utterly delightful host (the hut is located in her beautiful garden complete with adorable French chickens Florence & Matilda!). Her enthusiasm, endless help & kind warm personality really made our stay all the more perfect & just the relaxing weekend away that we both needed.

Each morning we were greeted with the most delicious breakfasts which we were lucky enough to have outside (thank you kind weather!)

The beautiful scenery we woke to each morning:

The surrounding fields are all organic, free from pesticides & the air so clean that the trees have lichen growing on them :)

We spent our two days visiting Arundel Castle & pottering around the local antiques stores (found myself a fab 1950s top! & compact), wandering round Chichester & visiting the cathedral & even getting a little visit to the local beach (West Wittering & it’s colourful beach huts & sand dunes). Not to mention two dinners at two fantastic local pubs which Lizzie recommended. Hearty warm locally produced food & dark spooky walks home in the dark with hundreds of stars twinkling above. Even saw a shooting star!

If you’re looking for a relaxing weekend away I would highly recommend giving Lizzie a call & book yourself into the Shepherd’s Return. Two nights in her lovely hut listening to the owls hooting at night & being greeted each morning by the comforting clucking of two inquisitive chickens is the perfect remedy!
